2. Use the Right Gear
There are a lot of options when it comes to choosing the right gear. Most popular gears are 10-15 foot trolling rods, 9-10 foot jig poles, or ultrabright spinning outfits. When you are using a line for it I recommend you to use a 4-8 pound one. These are the gears that I use

3. Find The Right Place for Fishing
Even if you have the perfect artificial bait with the right gears you may not be able to catch crappies if you aren’t on the right spot. You can find black and white crappies in most lakes and reservoirs. So if you have any lake nearby suitable for fishing you can try that place to catch some crappies.

If you can find a place for fishing like near some shoreline cypress trees, weed beds, blowdowns, and main lake humps those places will be perfect.

4. Present Your Bait
After you have chosen your artificial bait and a good spot, now it’s time to start fishing. So do not try to fish too deep and make sure to hold your fishing pole at a 45-degree line angle.
Also, you can use a lure spray scent to your artificial bait to catch more fish.
5. Be patient
This is the most important part when it comes to fishing, especially if you are new to fishing and fishing with an artificial bait. If you aren’t able to catch crappie even after some minutes, try to change your fishing spot or switch the gears that you are using.
